Director, Idaho Girls ProgramCoach Andy Jones brings over 30 years of coaching experience and an unmatched record of success across Idaho high school basketball. A seven-time Idaho Coach of the Year and multiple-time District Coach of the Year, Coach Jones has led teams to numerous district titles, state tournament appearances, and seven state championships—including a dominant run at Middleton High School with a 233-47 record and a historic 72-game win streak.
Coach Jones earned his Master’s in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University Irvine and his B.S. in Physical Education from the University of Wyoming. Known for building competitive programs rooted in fundamentals, discipline, and teamwork, he was inducted into the Middleton Hall of Fame in 2023. His leadership continues to shape the next generation of athletes at Timberline High School, where he currently serves as head girls basketball coach.

Director, Utah Girls & Boys ProgramCoach Josh Archuleta is a passionate builder of programs and people. With coaching experience at Summit Academy, Juan Diego High School, and Highland High School in Utah, he has helped lead teams to academic and athletic excellence—achieving state records (2015 State Champions), developing several Academic All-State honorees and being recognized as USA Today’s Utah Coach of the Year. As Program Director of the Lady Rebels since 2012, Josh has championed youth basketball development, community outreach, and mentorship from elementary through high school levels.
His early basketball career included a decade with the Utah Jazz as a Coach & Player Attendant, where he learned firsthand from NBA legend Jerry Sloan—shaping his detail-oriented coaching style. Josh studied Sports Management through the Parks, Recreation & Tourism department at the University of Utah, where he will complete his degree in 2026. Known for his operational leadership and community-centered approach, Coach Archuleta is driven by a desire to impact players beyond the court.

Founder/ChairmanJoe de Vera brings nearly 40 years of leadership in banking, commercial real estate lending, and investment to Team Genesis Basketball. A proven business and community leader, Joe has facilitated the placement of over $500 million in debt and equity across a range of business and real estate projects, and has successfully guided six companies through mergers and acquisitions.
His passion for mentorship and leadership development extends beyond the boardroom. In 2010, Joe founded the Treasure Valley CFO Forum, which has grown from six members to over 115 local finance executives. He has also served as Board Chair or Director for 11 nonprofit and educational organizations, including North Star Charter School, Junior Achievement of Idaho, United Way of Treasure Valley, St. Luke’s Meridian Advisory Board, the Idaho Charter School Commission, and the Arid Club.
A longtime advocate for youth development, Joe co-founded Idaho Elite Basketball alongside Chris Seeger 18 years ago—now the longest-running and one of the most respected youth basketball programs in Idaho. With Team Genesis Basketball, Joe continues his commitment to building opportunities for young athletes to develop, compete, and grow both on and off the court.

Director, Idaho Boys ProgramCoach Paul Egwuonwu brings a wealth of knowledge as a former Division I and professional player and over a decade of experience coaching and developing athletes in the Pacific Northwest. With coaching stops at Kuna High School and Capital High School, he is known for building cultures of discipline, hard work, and personal growth.
Coach Egwuonwu’s mission is to help athletes reach their highest potential—not just as players, but as people. His commitment to “teaching the game the right way” has led numerous players to college scholarships and professional careers. With a hands-on, mentorship-driven approach, Coach Egwuonwu is a foundational force in the development of Team Genesis athletes.

Director, Montana Girls & Boys ProgramCarlos Taylor, a Memphis native and former Big Sky scoring champion, brings elite playing and coaching experience to Team Genesis. A standout at Montana State University, Taylor graduated in 2008 with a degree in Sociology before launching a professional career in Europe, competing in Holland, Belgium, and France.
His coaching career includes time with the Nike EYBL Bluff City Legends/Team Penny—where he helped develop multiple NCAA Division I and NBA athletes. He’s served on staff at Montana State, Seward County Community College, and most recently Casper Community College. Coach Taylor’s player-first mindset, combined with high-level experience, makes him a powerful resource for athletes striving to reach the next level. He is a proud father to his daughters, Rylee and Reese.
